Behaviours That Challenge

What We Do
We provide person-centred support for people who may display behaviours that challenge, recognising that behaviour can be a form of communication and may reflect unmet needs, distress, sensory differences or environmental factors.
Rather than focusing solely on the behaviour, we take time to understand the person, what may be contributing to their behaviour and what they may be trying to communicate.
Our approach considers each person’s strengths, needs, communication and preferences – providing consistent support that promotes wellbeing, safety, choice and independence.
How We Support People
Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles, we work alongside the person, their family and relevant professionals to understand potential triggers, patterns and the reasons behind behaviours that challenge.
We consider communication, sensory needs, routines, relationships and environmental factors, using proactive strategies to reduce distress and help people feel safe, understood and supported.
Our teams provide calm, consistent and person-centred support, focusing on positive relationships, meaningful engagement and the least restrictive approaches wherever possible.
We learn from what works for each person and adapt our approach as their needs change – helping people build confidence, develop skills and experience a better quality of life.
